Mysterious life of the loneliest man in the world

Russian Photographer Evgenia Arbugaeva has spent nearly 3 weeks to take pictures of a special man Slava Korotki - who's working at meteorological stations Khodovarikha, northern Russia. It takes a helicopter 1 hour flight to get to the nearest town.

Slava Korotki is having dinner and talking with his parrot Kesha.

There are a lot of weather stations in the Arctic. For 2 months, the photographers had visited 22 weather stations, hoping to find the 'romantic and lonesome wolves', but most of the stations were modernized, young people use new technology to work. But no one wants to go to meteorological stations in Khodovarikha because this place is quite old, with the picture of Gagarin the astronaut still hanged on the wall covered in wallpaper from Soviet era, makes people feel like the time has stopped. Slava Korotki, a 63-year-old man, is the only one who's living here. He has worked here for 13 years.

His job is to measure the temperature, rainfall and wind power. After an brief initial meeting, the photographer decided to return and work on the album but can not get in touch. The photographer tried his luck by hiring a helicopter and in the end, she has taken photos for over 2 weeks. This is the photo of a boat made by Slava Korotki himself.

It's winter so the sky always has a gray color, make it feel even more isolated. When she's still young, the photographer had come to the small town of Tiksi to visit some meteorological stations. The memories were beautiful, these experience make her feel curious. She always wonders who would dare to work in a place without any resident. This is a photo of Slava Korotki's wireless communication devices on the background of Soviet era style wall.

In the long night of Arctic, mr. Slava Korotki made this with matches.

                                                                    A lonely painting.

Mr. Slava Korotki has been living alone at this station for 13 years.

                                                         He works with old equipment.

This meteorological station is 1 hours flight apart the nearest town.
